I use the Dan-D Alamo Bowie original pattern to create these.
The knife is 16.5" overall with an 11" blade. 5/16" 01 tool steel and a brass inlay in the blade. Heavy double lugged brass hilt and brass butt cap. The handle is Ivory Micarta with brass spacers. This is a very large, time consuming and detailed piece of history.
Both the hand carved leather mount and knife are numbered.

Dan donated this knife to The Daughters of the Republic in 1968. It was the first modern Bowie by any Knifemaker to be on display at The Alamo
The original DAN-D Alamo Bowie now resides in the Grand Case just inside the entry to the new Alamo Museum on the Alamo grounds
